As it’s the end of semester one, you’ve likely just gone through some pretty bad finals. It’s one of those weeks of the year where every class just decides to hate you at the same time. However you dealt with this one, congrats. You survived. Now, you’ve got another semester, with year end finals instead of just midterms.
That being said, there are ways to make weeks like that a whole lot easier. For one, if you are taking AP or IB classes, your finals will be in May. Sure, you have to stress earlier and study harder, but it’s a good trade. For most AP classes, you’ll get to take the rest of May (and even actual finals week) really easy! For others, it’s just a simple project to keep you occupied during the class periods.
Now, that’s good and all, but how do you actually study for an AP test? Or any final for that matter? Not every set of classes will have the same difficulties. The best bet is to prioritize the classes that are the easiest and get those done as soon as possible. Once you’ve finished studying for the easy parts – a non-AP language class, for instance, might just have you take a grammar test, and some electives have nothing at all – you’ll feel accomplished, and it will motivate you to study for the rest of them
Still, it’s best not to overload yourself. Doing too much in one night or skipping sleep to focus on academics might seem like a fair trade, but it’s not. Even if you get a good grade, sacrificing your health isn’t worth it.
