Everyone knows about Tender Tuesday, whether they participate in it or not. Tender Tuesday is a staple lunch at Minnetonka High School. It includes tenders, mashed potatoes and gravy, steamed carrots, fruit, and a choice of milk. Most students do not know how nutritious this meal is, so I decided to change that. I walked into the Harbor Cafe and asked for some information about the glorious meal, and they delivered.
First of all, I learned how nice and helpful the lunch personnel are. I’m just a measly kid asking for some nutrional info about Tender Tuesday, and they went out of their way to help me. Deb Waldenmair, the head of the lunch staff, searched and printed all the nutritional info for Tender Tuesday. During all this, I saw how demanding this job is, trying to feed approximately 3,000 mouths a day. I get annoyed trying to figure out what to feed my younger siblings, which is nothing compared to the thousands of students the lunch staff feeds. What they do is quite remarkable and I have the utmost respect for all the lunch personnel.
As you can clearly see from the nutrition tables on the right, Tender Tuesday is quite the nutritious upgrade from KFC. The popularity is no mystery. People prefer this healthy rendition of the delicious comfort food. Next time you are waiting in the long line for Tender Tuesdays, know that it is worthwhile.
