Next time we'll do Brigadoon

If you saw the fall musical, then you may have caught the line at the end spoken by Officer Lockstock, “Next time we’ll do Brigadoon.” Well the next time is here, and the spring play Brigadoon is happening. Rehearsals have begun, the tech crew has started creating, and the pit orchestra has begun playing.

Brigadoon originally opened in 1947 and has been performed over 1000 times on Broadway. This tried and tested play tells the story of two New Yorkers, Tommy Albright and Jeff Douglas, who travel to Scotland on a hunting vacation. The two stumble upon the village of Brigadoon. But, as they soon discover, Brigadoon is a magical town that can only appear every 100 years. No outsider can stay in Brigadoon unless they fall in love, and no villager can ever leave. When Tommy falls in love with a villager, the clock is ticking to the time when Brigadoon will disappear for another 100 years, and the two young men must decide whether to stay in Brigadoon or to leave. The play casts Mr. Minnetonka, man pageant winner Josh Horst, as Tommy Albright, Michael Oasheim as Jeff Douglas, and Kalli Anderson as Fiona MacLaren. The play opens April 25 and plays for three weeks at the arts center. Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, and $12 for youth. Tickets are on sale now online, or they are available at the box office. Check out www.minnetonkatheatre.com for more information and tickets.
