5 October Holidays You’ll Want to Celebrate
October 12, 2015
When you think October, what comes to mind? For many people, October is the month of Halloween, celebrating all things spooky and scary for 31 days. But while you’re stuffing yourself with candy and trying to find the coolest costume at the last minute, don’t forget about these 5 lesser-known October holidays.
National Dessert Day – October 14
If you are looking for another chance to eat sweets, this holiday is perfect for you. Bake a pie or decorate some cookies!
National Cheese Curd Day – October 15
National Cheese Curd Day was submitted by Culver’s and selected by National Day Calendar in August of 2015.For those of you missing the state fair, use this holiday to go out and indulge on cheese curds, or even try to make your own!
Ipod Day – October 23
How could you ever forget the device that started it all? Spend this holiday digging through your drawers to find that old ipod of yours. Who knows, maybe it still works!
National Cat Day – October 29
This one goes out to all of the cat lovers out there (like me). Take time on this holiday to go visit the Humane Society and pet as many cats as you can, or if you have a furry friend of your own at home, maybe give them some extra catnip and an extra few pets.
National Knock Knock Joke Day – October 31
If you aren’t too busy with Halloween, try spending some time on this day perfecting your knock knock jokes. Maybe instead of using that mask, you can scare people with your cheesy, overused knock knock jokes.
